Lol my corporate did this and just adjusted pay to essentially the same with recent inflation. It was quite funny how irritated one of our C-suite execs were on a teams call when one of my team members had the balls to state that.
What do you mean? Like they gave individual people raises?
Essentially yeah. They were bucketed by HR/senior management. I'm technically in my management team but a junior member. I already got my review (made top bucket, "stellar performance" whatever you may call it) and got a significant bump vs most of my department.
My company always claims "Diversity, equity, inclusion" but the reality is a lot of the bonuses/promotions are based off of merit. One of the perks of being a privately owned company, a lot less woke advancements/promotions that seem questionable in some public companies I've seen.
