College Student Questions

Currently in my 2nd year at community college (3.8 hs gpa, 1350 SAT went to save $), current gpa 3.4 and should receive a boost after this semester. Anyways I plan to attend San Diego State next year majoring in finance. Obviously won't get into IB from there but I'm not dead set on IB I just want to work in finance, honestly prefer ER over other industries. If I take another semester of CC, next fall semester I will have completed the courses needed to apply to UC Berkeley/ UCLA and will have guaranteed admission to UCSB as a backup. Essentially I'm wondering if it's worth it to take another year to go to a target school and if not what can I do at SDSU to get me started on a good foot in the industry and ultimately a path to the buy side. All advice appreciated
