Comment from my MD
I completed my Summer Associate Job in M&A. On the concluding day, my MD said to me," Your technical skills are good. You're assertive, too assertive."
How should I take it?
Do I have to work on my assertiveness and make it lesser?
OR
Should I take it as a compliment?
He said you were too assertive. In no way is that good coming from a superior.
Assertive: good, too assertive: dear god, what have you done?
He thinks you're whiny or, given the technical comment, you shouldn't talk about changing models anymore.
Don't be as assertive
Are you retarded? Read what the above posts have said and stfu sometimes when you're around more senior bankers.
If you think that's there even a 1/10000 chance it could have been a compliment, you are f-ed up.
reading between the lines:
"you can memorize a Vault guide pretty well but shut the fuck up and don't tell VP's/MD's how to do their job. Thanks"
