Compliance/Risk Management Analyst in IB/CB

I have been applying to jobs and came across this role at a large bank. I applied ad hoc, and I am now very likely to get an offer.  The pay is pretty good overall for base, worse than someone on the M&A team, but it is more than enough start-wise. Can someone tell me what exit opportunities I might have? I literally can not find anything online. The role summary is basically this: investment bankers do work, and I tell them that the work they did will get us sued, and to fix it. That being said, I read someone here saying if M&A is still my passion in 1 yr to just work as hard as possible, then talk to HR about it and try to join a team. Is this reasonable? The poster was going to work at the same bank, but this was years ago.

TL;DR tell me what exit opps I will have at a role like this.
