Computers to buy

I am an incoming analyst at a BB which doesn't provide company laptops. I also have some work from home flexibility. I also like to play PC games. I believe I should have a desktop computer at home, as well as a laptop in case I need to travel. How much is the right laptop going to set me back? I want my home set up to be as good as the setup in the office, but obviously I can't move it around like a laptop.

What BB doesn't provide laptops damn... I think best option would be the newest Thinkpad with a Lunar Lake CPU—the battery life is worth it and build a PC for gaming use. Tons of laptops with GPUs are available if you're more interested in having one device and plugging it into an external monitor.

What's your budger and setup thoughts?
