Confession

I destroyed the career of my friend to work at a BB IB.

I was very passionate about finance all my life and ready to sacrifice a lot of things to start my career at a BB IB. I sacrificed a friend of mine for it.

This wasn't a close friend of mine because otherwise -most likely- I wouldn't have done it; though, that doesn't justify my actions.

I was an above-average student, with very good grades, good internships, and good extracurriculars but even for me, it was hard to get into a BB IB from a semi-target school.

I did an internship at a prestigious financial institution during my junior year. Then, I was ready to start my journey at a BB IB after my graduation.

Just two seniors from my school got a chance to interview, the other one was my friend. We both made it to the final interviews but because of his luck and limited seats, he got an offer, and I was put on hold.

I was better than him, I knew that. It was really hard for me to accept that he was the one getting the offer, so I decided to do something evil or smart, whatever you call it.

I bought untraceable servers from shitty countries. Then, opened multiple accounts on different social media platforms with the numbers and emails I bought from dark web sites. Because I had a good amount of knowledge about him, I decided to ruin his life for a couple of months to get his seat.

I already knew the high school he had gone to, so I decided to act like a girl that was ''assaulted'' by him during high school. First, I made up a story and included many details about him so it would be believable. I wrote a couple of stories and sent those to his friends, professors, school administration, and to the bank he got an offer.

The story was near to perfect and believable because it had many details about him. Most people believed it and some groups did little protests on the campus. Then, I think the bank called the school and talked with them about it.

Then, the bank called my friend and told him that they didn't want to work with him because of his current public image. And a couple of days later, I got an offer.

A few days before I started working at the bank, I sent messages to everyone saying that it was a joke. Then, deleted all of the social media accounts related to this incident. I even destroyed my laptop.

The thing I did was wrong, but it was either him or me. It was either his dreams or my dreams. I don't regret a thing I did but I accept that it was unethical. Though, this is how the world works, isn't it? We make thousands of dollars if not millions while people are starving in poor countries, we spend huge amounts of money on watches, and suits while some people struggle to get enough protein and find clean water. Is this ethical? No. There is not a single difference between buying Rolex while knowing that people are starving in poor countries or destroying someone's career for a couple of months. I would debate that mine is more ethical. I'm not a bad person either, I donate a certain part of my salary to foundations around the world. Would he have done the same thing? I doubt it. I deserve this and I'm happy with it.

This is my confession.

Fake. Anyone who's ever worked in finance will know that no one is like this. lmao

Generally banks are going to run a background check consisting of criminal history and that’s about it.

Only two sources I trust, Glenn Beck and singing woodland creatures.

If you’re going to rip a story, better elsewhere than the Old Testament
