Confidentiality On Resume - When Can You Provide Names?
I just finished up an internship a major ratings agency. I wrote a report on McDonald's that hasn't been published yet. Is it okay to put the company's name on my resume? if not, can I say something like "one of the world's largest fast-food companies"?
Seems like a question only the company you interned with can answer. Just ask someone there how much confidentiality is required.
The approach I've taken with the including transactions/projects on my resume is: if I cant find details using a quick google search or from disclosed statements then I'll omit the name since its not really fully public yet. I personally rather be on the safe side and describe it like you mentioned, "large fast food company", "leading regional bank", etc. on my resume. However, during the interviews, when asked I go into more detail and mention the name and elaborate
You never know who'll get your resume or where its forwarded so you cant control who sees something that MAY BE confidential.
