Contact says he can't meet up, any way to turn this?

Gentleman, I recently attended a mini-career fair at my school and met a Director from a very reputable firm in Boston. We had a good ~5 minute conversation, he gave me his card and I emailed him a day after.

I asked to meet with him for a cup of coffee to discuss his role at x company and the industry some more, and he responded with:

It was very nice speaking with you and I’m glad to hear you are interested in fixed income investing. Unfortunately, I have a very busy schedule especially with quarterly earnings releases. Good luck at your internship.

That was it. I'm trying to figure out what to write back, but it seems like he closed the door. Why would he give me his card if he can't talk?

What could I say to turn this around?

Thanks.

People just like handing out cards. It's almost a natural instinct. Don't think too much into it. Thank him and move on.

He's busy with work, its nothing against you. Contact him again in a few weeks.
