Continuous networking?

Do people keep networking regularly (LinkedIn messages, coffee chats, etc.) with lots of people outside their bank even after starting as an analyst?

For context, am joining a bank FT this summer and haven't done any actual networking since I got my SA offer in sophomore year lol

“he did really good. he was very thoughtful and we worked through a question then feedback format as it was my first mock. I really enjoyed talking to him as he was very knowledgable and, as it was my first mock we sort of were understanding how it really flows. But for some topics that i struggled on, he knew how to tailor it in a way that I could understand and ultimately made me more knowledgable overall. I guess sometimes he wasn't as engaged with my answers but still took notes which was nice of him”

“Pablo was amazing as a first mentor. Instead of simply talking about my linkedin, we had an insightful discussion about his career path, his transition between different roles like Investment banking, management consulting, private equity and even his work when he was a pharmaceuticals company. I don't think a linkedin review is as important as getting career guidance, so him taking the time out of his day and making sure he gave me his advice on how I can plan out my career and approach recruiting was very helpful ”
