Corona Semester GPA Drop
So last semester my GPA took a huge hit - fell from 3.9 to 3.5. Lot of shit going on - remote learning was a terrible experience, family members sick, mental health exacerbated by isolation.
I have an offer for 2021 SA and I'm required to submit my transcript. Given this sharp fall in GPA, should I preface and proactively send an email to HR to explain this fall in GPA? Or am I overthinking the importance of this step in the onboarding process?
Would appreciate any thoughts. I've been kicking myself for letting all those shitty things derail my academics.
Nope - no need to send anything to HR. Nobody will care as long as it stays above 3.0
Thanks, that is a relief to hear
.
I think that during COVID, HR and people in general will be most understanding of GPA drop-offs, since it is overwhelmingly happening across the board.
I think it's because everyone is impacted by COVID. Whereas if you talk about your brother dying or struggling with mental health, people might not sympathize with you, but if it's COVID related they will.
