Curious about day-to-day life of a GS partner

I'm not in Finance, am in tech industry, and have a noob question about GS partner life.

Someone I'd heard about from a distant acquaintance became a GS partner. He started out as a quant at GS after PhD in EECS.

I was curious about the actual work a Goldman sachs partner (from a quant background) does, like, do they hands-on manage work of their subordinates, how many MDs/quants each would on average have under them etc.

  • Do GS partners also manage day-to-day work of their subordinates?
  • how many average MDs/quants under a partner?
  • do their staff meetings similar to tech's manager/Corp-VPs staff meeting discussing project/details etc?
  • their typical day?
