Current Employee in IB, Overqualified and getting no lateral looks - UNIQUE SITUATION
In a unique situation so trying to not dox myself. At a sector-specific bank that is well-known in the niche but besides that not really. Have "interned" there for a long time and have far more experience and actual working knowledge then anyone else about to start a FT analyst program. Modeling, pitch decks, CIPs, CIMs, NDAs, deal due diligence, client communication, teasers, I've worked on it all and all of which at some point or another have taken full control over. Built model for a deal from scratch etc. As of recent don't love the trajectory of the firm so trying to lateral to an 1st year Analyst class but obviously most FT classes are full which makes sense so not a lot of options even knowing I would be a great addition to a team.
Any advice would be appreciated, whether its 1st year analyst classes that have openings or what you maybe would do in my situation
bump
Just start at that bank full time and lateral later. Especially if you are getting into a groove and can have decent quality of life…
