CVP > EVR officially?

Has Centerview emerged as the Goldman of boutiques now that Evr is widely viewed as having plateaued & slightly declining?

When I was recruiting for SA, an MD @ Guggenheim (the real GS, btw), said the above about Evr when discussing my competing offers. Only had good things to say about the other firms I had competing offers from (Cvp may or may not have been among them).

Only argument is if you're DEADSET on PE and want to get there ASAP since CVP exits very well too. I've seen some people exit after 2, but obviously you need to pay back part of the signing.

A bit too much CVP kool aid here

Hours wise, they get crushed and are absolutely expected to be in the office/ show face. Blair just had this to say, pretty clear

“Without a lot of pushback, most people are in the office. And if you’re not then obviously you’re probably travelling for clients or doing something else. You’re not sitting on a Wednesday at home.”

Deal size, like everyone else, they reach down market. Sold Checkmate Pharma for $195m, Picon for 125m, ServiceSource for 140m..you get the picture

Some of the non-transactional work is pretty interesting and a great way to round out a junior’s skillset, however some of it can be quite dry (think investor day presentations)

Obviously a great firm with excellent perks, but these guys aren’t a different species like people here make them out to be

Can someone back up the benefits? I just started FT (ignore flair) and we don't have ubers to the office or "insanely large" dinner stipends, it's $35? NY office.

they have the most analysts…it’s all about per capita. That’s why the smaller EB’s may not have exits at a particular fund, but certainly have the option too.

Officially lmaooo - one guy writes EVR is not as good and this is what you conclude?

I mean the official thing is stupid, but read the thread. Tons of viewpoints corroborating. Lots of my friends want to leave evercore and another unrelated thread just now was complaining about the “incompetent lateral associates on Evercore RX”
