CVP PA Update

What's the situation with CVP PA these days? Heard a lot about them in the past, but obviously things have probably changed with the original partners + half the team leaving, and today one of the partners brought in from MS also left to join PWP. Would appreciate any insight to how the team's been doing the past year or so.

In the tech space but don't have the inner insight on the office. That being said, looking from the outside you have to question Jack MacDonald's role in the office's turbulence. After he came over to CVP and brought some of his guys from BofA the office started going through volatility. First Handler & co, then half the junior and mid-level team, and now the MS guys.

Jack MacDonald came in because Handler was leaving to form Tidal. I commented about this in detail elsewhere.

But yes, their nature of work and presence in the PA office has changed. Handler did a lot of Strategic Finance work for large-caps; and that work is slowly being replaced by M&A; although yet to see them in any meaningful deals. I think they want to operate in the $300-$1,000 EV space and that means competing a lot with likes of EVR, MOE, etc.

Kempton Dunn leaving will obviously be a blow, but he was not JM's guy. In essence, their team will just be JM and his team and they are going to focus on M&A/cap raising.
