Daily life of a Financial Sponsors Associate? (Non execution)

Would someone be able to walk me through the daily life, start time, task throughout the day, what time they usually work to, weekend life..etc. within a financial sponsors group which does no modeling. I know there a few groups like this across the street. Evercore is one I think? Maybe MS? Not sure

If it's a non-execution FSG group then chances are they don't do much. Associates usually come in office at 9:30am or 10am and leaves office at 6/7pm. If they still have to WFH after that then usually call it a day at ~8-9pm. No weekend work unless time is very poorly managed at senior levels or even procrastination. Even if there's weekend work it's not too terrible since they can pass work off to analysts.

Responsibilities include doing research regarding the FSG space or the client list of your MDs, making potential investor profile for pitches, slides for follow up meetings with portfolio companies of clients, attend calls/meetings, etc. Think of a coverage group but you take away the industry slides, company overview slides, the model, handling client requests, etc.

Overall great group to make a shit ton while working as little as possible, assuming the bank has good deal flow. Would not recommend analysts doing this because in case analysts get fired, they don't have marketable skills to re-recruit elsewhere. Best group for those who already had strong technical skills/experience and want to switch to a chill life while still making bank.

This sums it up for my bank pretty perfectly. Agreed that you should only do this after your analyst years. But great group to join if you want to little work for a couple years and make good money. I’ll add that they also travel often for pitches, conferences, golf tournaments and client meetings as it’s a very relationship based roles. Juniors often times do a lot of admin work like scheduling calls and just taking notes and then updating sponsor profiles.
