Dealing with Stuck up/Lazy Summer Interns

Anybody had to deal with a stuck up/lazy summer intern?

With 3 years of experience, I've noticed a trend among these lazies. Their linkedin profile picture is always a picture of them NOT smiling.

To me, I've realized this is a huge red flag in my future interviews with summer analysts. The stone-faced type kids tend to be very entitled, stuck up, lazy, and non-coachable. Thoughts?

"Intern in IB-M&A" Tbh I think no smiling is the move. It's a professional picture (serious) not your fraternity yearly collage

If you're stone faced, anybody who doesn't like you, can easily assassinate your character.

"He has attitude problems, he has poor work ethic, he's unprofessional/curt/impolite, he's not self aware, he won't be able to effectively cultivate client relationships, he is entitled, I heard he wants to recruit out for PE already, he is not a critical thinker, I don't feel comfortable working with him, he is not a team player, etc."

And if you are in fact lazy/produce poor work results/lack critical thinking skills, any listener who doesn't know you will believe it.

I'm going with smile. Imagine in conversation someone tells their coworker "yeah I don't think we can like this guy, he smiles in his LinkedIn pic". They'll look like a complete dumbass.
