Would appreciate any insight! :)
Putting those 3 names in the same bucket is a mistake - one doesn’t exist in Europe, the other is a smaller and newer player in Europe and the third is the only one that has an intern program lol. It will really depend on what type of case study you have - you could have a commercial one with more focus on understanding the business or they may go down the more “financey” route and test your understanding of LBOs. With basic knowledge of accounting and capital structure this should be ok.
If it’s more commercial and you’re given limited financial information they will want to see how you think about a business. What does the business do? How do they make money? How has this changed over the years? How is the market doing? How is the business doing relative to its market? Who runs the business? Do they have experience working with PE? Is it a sponsor to sponsor deal? Etc etc.
Thank u so much bro and good catch - stupid categorisation by me hehe.
If say… one of the firms decided to go down the “financey” route as you say, do you think BIWS is enough to answer the case study to sufficient depth?
If you go on the LBO Playlist on YouTube I think videos 1,2,3,4,7,8,10 should have you covered.
Note these videos aren’t necessarily made for levfin/credit interviews, it will be useful to supplement this with learning about credit metrics/ratios, capital structure, covenants, accounting. If you have access to Rosenbaum chapters 4 and 5 are useful.
You’re a god-send brother mashallah.
Will do this and let u know how it goes :) its on the 17th Jan
Good luck :)
