We sit on a sphere made up mostly of water that's spinning 1,000 miles per hour in space, we communicate through metal devices that emit radiation which we keep in our pockets all day that we are addicted to but make us depressed, we eat food that is not even real food, it's been manufactured in some lab, we sit in these metal boxes called cars and we don't even know how they work or the actual mechanics of them we just trust someone else who figured it out, we spend hours arguing about nebulous topics, many of us are fat and lazy, meanwhile we wake up everyday and most people go work a job they hate ALL DAY to see a number on a screen go up biweekly, we think we're smarter than we really are… and this is just on the surface layer. Society has become really weird… and people just act like this is normal.

Good synopsis. I happen to like very much the age we live in. Information is free and plentiful, we live like kings with our comfy mattresses and food that is prepared for us. Even if we want to cook ourselves, we can go to the store and get nearly anything.

I think the only thing I crave that has not happened yet is uploading information to the mind.

"If you always put limits on everything you do, physical or anything else, it will spread into your work and into your life. There are no limits. There are only plateaus, and you must not stay there, you must go beyond them." - Bruce Lee

y would u crave that

it's going to render human ingenuity, innovation, and desire to overcome meaningless. Literally would be like giving a squirrel a room with a thousand nuts, water, and a comfy nest

u think that's right my man? u don't come of that way. Then again, you might mean this purely from an intellectual empowerment standpoint, I just think that's a slippery slope

haven't been on here in a while but one thing that's weird is that you can just message random people out of no where. I'm not sure if anyone else does this but sometimes I just send random people a message out of no where and see if they will respond. like just yesterday I sent this musician a message on his Reddit account and then he got back to me and we talked a bit, not much but a bit, that is just an interesting dynamic that wouldn't have existed a while back.

Also OP this is not some new revelation, people have been feeling this way definitely at least since Fight Club came out. Your post makes it seem like you just saw Fight Club for the first time lol. The problem is that there are no solutions to the problem. If we are going to also make a The Matrix analogy, there is no red pill to take.

Fight Club, a great book and movie, borrowed a lot from Nietzsche:

All the technology (cars, phones, etc.) and social changes (office lifestyle, nebulous topics, lab food, etc.) shouldn't be a concern because despite all of those we still share the same brain as our ancestors. We strive to have relationships, we strive towards some goals and we strive to minimize our suffering. Everything else is just accessories or changes which we adopted because it helps us to reach better those 3 things

Really, life is about biological fitness:

”Fitness (often denoted w or ω in population genetics models) is the quantitative representation of individual reproductive success. It is also equal to the average contribution to the gene pool of the next generation, made by the same individuals of the specified genotype or phenotype. Fitness can be defined either with respect to a genotype or to a phenotype in a given environment or time. The fitness of a genotype is manifested through its phenotype, which is also affected by the developmental environment. The fitness of a given phenotype can also be different in different selective environments.”

Delete your social media, it’s just not a natural part of human life. I recently just deleted my Snapchat, all I have now are Facebook and LinkedIn. I’m really glad I took this step and deleted the Snap, just realized I was spending more time looking at the ‘news’ tab (which is just thots shaking their asses and wearing skintight yoga pants at the gym)

anyone I care to keep in touch with I do via calling / FaceTiming / messenger / WhatsApp / iMessage

social media implicitly forced self comparisons vs others constantly in very unhealthy ways. Not to mention TikTok / Snap / IG are basically soft core porn by this point, that’s genuinely not great for the psyche
