Deloitte Discovery Internship good stepping stone to IB/PE?

Current sophomore who missed the mark on sophomore BB recruitment, so I’m looking into getting into B4 valuation/m&a/finance groups and started networking with people across B4.

Specifically for the Discovery Internship, interns are placed in advisory, audit, or tax. Learned that tax/audit can have you working for a PE-focused group, in advisory you can work for DCF (Deloitte Corporate Finance) or a group in m&a/transactions.

Going to apply asap and aim for either of these. Would this be a good stepping stone to recruit for IB/PE junior summer? TIA
