Deutsche Bank top groups
Last thread is a couple years old. Are the best groups there still M&A, FSG, LevFin, REGL and industrials?

Define "best".
REGL, LDCM are the crown jewels. Healthcare is strong. M&A is terrific, but mostly in Germany - if you move over to Frankfurt after a year in NYC you'll be working on the most prolific M&A team on the planet.
LevFin is ace, similar to LDCM. Lot of mobility between both groups.
Are REGL and LDCM best in NYC? And what is your definition of best?
I'll be interning there this summer, and haven't done group selection yet. I have contacts in the REGL group, but don't feel super "passionate" about real estate lol. Do you think I should still opt for REGL -- i.e. will I get good deal experience, and what do you think are the exit opps? Is it known on the street?
Sorry, I should've clarified. This is for NYC and "best" based off of exit opps.
Really, Healthcare?
Have heard they are severely understaffed. My understanding is that there was a mass poaching by another bank 2-3 years ago and they are still rebuilding.
Think there are some very high quality people there, particularly on biotech side, but deal flow has been weak while they are working their way back up.
Do you know anything about the REGL group, and the exit opps and culture more specifically?
What is the difference between LevFin and LDCM?
Well DB is in trouble so everything is in flux right now and as they fall apart, who knows. Think their DCM and LevFin business is still strong and from what I understand, a lot of those guys got tagged with those retention bonuses so the mass exodus was somewhat more limited. Think their Real Estate group might also be intact, but pretty much everything else is already really suffering. Little stronger in EMEA but it's rough going at DB in NY. My advice is don't go there if you have another option.
By far their Panzer division outclasses any other group.

Does anyone have insight on the Boston tech group? Seems like a small group but curious on how they've been doing
The head of that office is now at Moelis and is killing it at Moelis. Some of the other top talent left to go elsewhere when he left. Think the group is struggling, and they've got a lot of competition in the Boston tech landscape.

Wanted to start a new discussion about groups at DB. What are the best groups at DB in terms of deal flow and exit opportunities?

What is DB known for? IBD? S&T? AM? I have a SA interview coming up. Within IBD which groups are the rainmakers? Thanks for any help!

They're actually not that good in LevFin or IBD but they are very good in S&T and FI.
