Developing A Business Idea/Plan while Working
Im an incoming analyst and I have a business idea that I want to eventually take on full time but not until a few years down the road. I know if you invent something while working it can become the bank's invention not your own. If i just sketch down ideas, some research, and a business plan (not anything actionable like getting funding) could it come back to bite me in the future? Should I just wait until I'm ready to jump to it full time to really do anything.
Don’t work on it while at the office. It’s not worth the risk.
I get that you work long hours, but if you really want to pursue it then you may have to give up some weekend time.
Yeah I meant on the weekend like if I'm bored or have an idea I want to expand on a bit. Would that have any risk associated?
Not a lawyer or expert in the area, but I have hard time imagining that developing an idea outside of company time and property will result in your company claiming rights to the idea.
