Did anyone else lose all their hobbies
14 months in to the job now - it's work 5-6 days a week for most of the day/evening for me, and besides that I try to get to the gym to keep myself in decent shape. I might go to a cafe on a weekend morning to do a little reading or think about next steps in my career, or go out drinking on a Friday/Saturday evening with some friends. That's all my life is now. It's easy to mkae excuses but I find myself lacking the motivation to do anything else. I used to golf but I don't have a car or the time really, I used to like to cook but I just order meals to work or make simple things like eggs or stir fry types of dishes now, etc. I am making progress in my professional life, but it is so monotonous. I've even been seeing a girl on and off for a few months but I am don't even always feel like talking to her after being in front of work people for 10+ hours a day, at times would rather just be on my own. I guess I am in to men's fashion/going to the gym/listening to many different types of music,
Ya same.
The world of high finance does not allow for a lot of hobbies because even in the rare moments where you’re “off the clock”, you’re still typically thinking about work
Going to the gym and hanging out with friends on a Friday and Sat is more than most people have the luxury of doing
