Did Desperation and Eagerness scare off IB offer?
Did an interview with a small boutique oil & gas investment bank and the following week I scheduled a coffee chat with the executive director the following week. He bought me breakfast and he said "You're my guy and I am sticking with you" so he gave me a verbal offer and was shocked that I couldn't even talk for a brief sec. He then asked me if I had any offers and I said no and I said I am excited to work with the team. After that I met up with the team and they told me all about the internship. Last week, I emailed the executive director and said "Was I selected for an internship with the company (and I obviously was) because I wanted to make sure since I did not get any signing documents and I have an incoming offer from an Investment firm that is unrelated to IB.
Do y'all think I scared off my internship offer for being desperate?
