Difficulty going from Project Finance -> M&A for FT recruiting or lateral recruiting

Recently got an offer for PF for SA 26 at a top bank in the space for lending (think MUFG/SMBC/Macquarie) that isn’t very relevant outside of it. In the event I can’t land another offer that is in traditional M&A IB, how hard would it be to recruit FT or lateral? Don’t really care about product or coverage group, though I have a location preference to stay in a regional market (not NYC)
