Dilemma Regarding Group Placement

Hi all,

I am going through FT group placement right now and have a problem. I will refer to the two groups I am interested in as group X and group Y. I am interested in group Y and worked with them for most of the summer and enjoyed the work and the people were great (known for good culture)! However, I had one project with Group X that I really enjoyed, but outside of that one task, I didn't have much exposure to X as I would have liked and would prefer the industry work slightly more. (I was expecting to rank X over Y because of this)

That being said, I'm trying to reach out to as many members of team X (have mostly spoke to people I already had contact with during my summer internship) as possible (already spoke to most of Y) and the new people I am reaching out to aren't being responsive to me and this is the last real week that I can network heavy since I have a trip planned for next week. I am thinking of just pulling the trigger on Y and ranking them 1 because they all know me and told me that ranking them 1 would definitely make me ranked high on their list as well.

Sorry for the long-winded question, but I was wondering if any one has advice on how I should approach group placement rankings for X and Y. Also as a side question, should I cancel my trip to prioritize group placement (It was planned way in advance in February and I didn't know about the group placement timeline)?

Thanks!
