I don’t have inside knowledge, but here’s my take.
CS (along with GS, MS) have been the top BB and investment bank of choice for HK and Mainland IPOs for some time. But I expect more of this restructuring stuff across all banks and more pullbacks. With Xi reigning in on these Chinese tech companies looking to list in the US, keep their economy and markets increasingly insular, and just generally becoming more “anti-business” — expect more of this until something changes..
