Do any of you have quiet MDs?

It seems that being able to win clients is a crucial aspect of getting promoted to MD in Investment banking. That being said, do any of you know any MDs who are more on the quiet/introverted side? How do they carry themselves? And how successful do you think they are in wining and dining clients?

the only quiet MDs I know of in trading are the ones who work on more internally focused desks like repo and risk management. Much more nerdy and introverted. Not talking to clients, but they talk a lot with other MDs at the firm. They tend to be much more blunt and socially awkward, but it seems like they are fine despite that. Results matter more than sales when it comes to roles like that.

Quiet is a bit subjective -- have had MD's that weren't loud and boisterous but commanded a presence and carried lots of force in their words when speaking. Came with their rep though, not sure how they spoke with clients.

I'll be honest -- 9 out of 10 times your MD"s sound like bitches to clients. It's ok, I sound like one now when I speak to clients too coming from the other side. It's just the nature of a revenue generating role.
