Do I disclose I have ADHD on applications?
Pretty generic question, I just don't know whether or not I will be looked at differently as a candidate because I have ADHD.

Career Resources
Do they ask if you have ADHD on job applications?
They ask if you’re disabled and ADHD is listed under that.
Do not disclose. Terrible idea.
I don't remember that - was that one of the forms you didn't need to fill out?
Plus likely 1/3rd of people in IB have some form of ADHD - it's fairly common
Only if you want to be forced to share your Adderall, otherwise I wouldn't
Just be honest
lol, I have ADHD and there's no fucking way I'd share that with an employer. this isn't the SAT, where you'd get more time or something, you'll still be expected to get your work done in the same amount of time. There's no benefit to sharing this and you're not required to. Only share a disability with your firm if you want special treatment and if you're ADHD is truly interfering with your ability to do the job (i.e. adderall isn't helping), no amount of accomodation from your employer is going to fix that, so you should try to find a job that you can do.
People that make the hiring decisions can’t see the self-identification. So once you get into the interview process, as long as you’re skilled enough to do well in them, you’ll get the offer. AKA it doesn’t really matter
I made that mistake in early career. My boss and I just went for lunch and had a talk about my upbringings, school etc and I casually dropped it. His facial expressions told me all I needed to know.
Don’t disclose it. There’s no real upside, unless your boss has it too.
It doesn't matter, but there's no benefit to doing so. As others have said, the person hiring does not see your answer, it's for categorization purposes + if you need accommodations during the interview
ADHD is the yuppie flu, you’ll look completely ridiculous trying to pass it off as a disability. Just take your stimmy of choice like everyone else
Take it from someone who has it, not worth the trade off. There are no accommodations of any kind that you would possibly get (if any at all) that are worth the stigma.
If this is a sincere question, I feel sad for you. You were somehow born without a modicum of judgment or common sense. These are crucial assets that save you from catastrophic fuckups, both in and out of banking.
i wont dignify the question of whether you are **REQUIRED** to disclose intimate HIPAA-protected medical details to potential employers with a direct answer.
thanks for the input
No need to disclose it. It’s 2026; most people, especially under 35, won’t think twice about it. If anything, depending on the role, some people may view it strong (sourcing/BD roles). Personally, I’ve never included it on applications (select "prefer not to disclose") and it’s never mattered. That said, my experience has mostly been in the SF Bay Area, so culture may vary in NYC / Chicago.
At the end of the day, ADHD is a dopamine imbalance. Stay organized, build systems that work for you, and find healthy ways to regulate dopamine: working out, keeping a tight to-do list, routines, etc. Don’t overthink it.
