Do offers at GS come from HR or from the group directly? Who calls?
interviewed with GS on Monday. Today (Wednesday)I was unable to answer the phone all day, and I come back to see 3 missed calls from some HR no call-back number. They left no voicemail. Also no email.
Do offers at GS come from HR or does some analyst/associate you interviewed with usually give you the good news?
wondering if this is an offer/rejection.
someone call this...
Offers and rejections both come from HR for GS, so could be either one. This is true at least for summer analyst recruiting, I imagine it's the same for full-time
However, if you did get an offer, sometimes you might get an email or a phone call the next day from an interviewer who is trying to convince you to join
Which group did you interview with? Which office? FT or SA? Usually come through via email.
this is for FT IBD in NYC. Really hoping to get another call today.
Not sure about GS, but as far as other firms go HR has no role other than allocating available slots and setting up the logistics of interviewing. Also, anytime we have hired anyone a group member has always reached out personally.
If there was no callback number or voicemail, how do you know it was HR?
Co-Sign,
HR or a member would of left a voicemail. Have you tried calling back the number? Maybe reverse look up the number as well.
Keep us posted.
Eventually left VM asking to call back. Rejection. Thanks for the help, all. Will keep on grinding and looking for opps.
In London, staffer will call you. If the offer is positive, an analyst (most probably your intern buddy) will also give you a ring.
if i may ask, was this for a classic coverage position or one of their product groups?
