Do SAs get tombstones if they were staffed on live deals that closed?
Just out of curiosity. Not that I'm dying to have one or anything. It'll just be a nice little bonus for the summer...any interns out there ever got one?

I got mine (two)
I don't think anyone in my group does tombstones. We don't do those kinds of deals :-(

lucites for analysts? (Originally Posted: 05/26/2012)
Out of curiosity, do analysts get lucite tombstones for completed deals that they worked on?
Yes @ JPMorgan NYC.
Yes at my MM... It's hard to imagine places skimping on that
Yes but who gives a fuck. I'd rather not receive a lucite and not have to bother designing/ordering them.
So true.
Yeah or just get the option of cash instead.
It was the only time I was able to be somewhat creative at my job. Outside of deciding whether or not to add shadow borders to the boxes on the team page.
Yes, at all banks. Most banks make you pay for tombstones now though (not just analysts, all bankers)
not true that i'm aware of... i know of places reducing their budget for deal toys but we don't pay out of pocket for them
We do at my bank, know some others where that is the case. Guess we're getting screwed. Oh well...
That really sucks... So many hoops to jump through now... back in the good ole days you used to be able to get anything you wanted and it could have a practical use... booze, golf clubs, trips, you name it... SEC ruining everyone's fun... Deal toy companies make so much money for doing so little... being a deal toy chick would be a great life... they don't do shit... all they do is show up and drop business cards and then email you when they see deals announce... it isn't even real sales... unfair.
You usually have to provide the names of client personnel and titles who will be receiving lucites to get them approved by the bean counters. Come up with a long list of names.
I'm at a 10 person boutique where I'm the only analyst and have received lucites for all of our closed deals.
