I wouldn't say that's strictly true. I had an amazing view all summer, and when it was sunny it was pretty cool to be able to look out over the harbor. Also, a few of us kept binoculars at our desk, and occasionally would check out stuff happening outside - pretty frequent summer activity was scanning apartment rooftops for hot girls sunbathing.

However, considering how high up offices with good views are, half the time it'll be cloudy and you won't be able to see anything anyway.

Monkeyinasuit you know nothing - it makes a massive difference, but unfortunately you don't have any say in it - spots are usually assigned more or less randomly or in some cases there is some correlation between the good spots and position. This of course excludes cases where offices are at the window and open plan is in the middle, in which case you won't get a view till you're at least a VP.

It makes a massive difference cos you sit there all day and more - some ppl sit where they can barely even see natural daylight just rows of lights, walls, doors etc while some ppl sit next to a window where there's a view and things going on on the outside so you can sorta gaze out for a min or two to switch off. I've had both and I know which one I prefer!
