Do you need a internship your sophomore summer after you get a junior summer internship?

Hello all,

I was hoping to get some thoughts on not having any internship after you get an offer for your junior summer. I want to take some classes over that summer to get ahead and maybe knock out a couple certifications as well instead of interning.  Nothing is set in stone, but just wanted some other people's thoughts on this idea before I make any dumb decisions.

If you're able to land junior year without it, you don't really need one at that point

Have seen people do a 4-6 week study abroad instead, which is a good answer if asked, and would be fun / still check a few boxes on classes. Agree with above, you just need some sort of answer that isn't "I did nothing and hung with my high school friends"

Taking classes is fine. What certifications? Almost all of them are useless

I already have my SIE and will have WSP's financial modeling certification by this Christmas, so I was going to try and get the Bloomberg certifications. I may not since I already really have everything I could need certifications wise. Maybe just classes is fine since I was going to try and take Physics I & II with a lab for each.
