Does 2nd year transfer to target school have an impact on recruiting

Hello! I am currently a freshman at a non target school interested in working in IB or consulting. I understand it’s a super competitive field and I’ve done enough research/reading this forum to know that the recruiting process is extremely tough, especially on kids who didn’t attend one of the target schools. I just finished my freshman year with a GPA of 4.0, and landed a small “finance-ish” internship for the summer. I am also involved in a lot of finance ec’s on campus and try my best to talk to as many finance kids from my school as possible, so I’m trying to do everything I can coming from a non target school. When I run LinkedIn searches it’s obvious my school doesn’t have a ton of people landing positions which I aspire to have one day, so I have thoroughly pondered transferring schools. I’ve got a pretty good record and my hope is I can make it in to one of the target schools or if not that, one of the semi target schools. My biggest concern is how much transferring so late will impact the recruiting process for me (since they appear to do it 18 months in advance). I am wondering if I am transferring too late, or will it matter?
