Don't you feel like MD's and CEO's are much easier to talk to when you don't know who they are?

A few hours ago I just finished a second round interview at a BB firm. It was a two on one interview. They both were very chill, all the questions were about my experiences but I showed off my bank and technical knowledge in some of the answers.

Afterwards I got their business cards and learned that one of them did not work at the BB firm but was a CEO at another firm and the second guy was an MD. I assume the CFO is a close friend of the MD and decided to help out.

Anyways the interview was chill. The thing is prior to that I was terrified of today's interview not knowing what to expect. It might help calm nerves knowing one of them is from your school.

Seriously, anyone but me terrified of having to talk to a MD or being interviewed by one?

Its SOP to be intervied by a MD at some point in the interview process. Most of the time MDs get a bad rap from people who grossly overstate their actions and verbal abuse. MDs are generally more laid back then associates and VPs who are usually under more stress then their bosses are.

If I was a senior person used to people kissing my ass, telling me what they think I want to hear just to make me happy, always having someone try and weasel something out of me, the one thing I would want from someone in a junior position is honesty and genuineness. Be respectful, but relax and be yourself. I am sure that most of these upper level people would appreciate it. Nice change of pace from what they are used to.
