Dress Code & Housing For Interns

Hey guys -- what should summer interns be wearing over the course of the internship? Should you wear a suit and tie for the first week, and then transition into business casual after that? Or, is business casual fine from day 2? How many suits should you have?

Also if the firm has a week of training in a different city at the start of the internship, do they usually pay for you to stay in a hotel or do you have to find your own housing for a week? Additionally, do you usually have to work the saturday and sunday after that training week?

Would really appreciate if someone could answer all of these questions. Thanks.

start in suit and tie in first week. gauge what the rest of the team(s) wear, then slowly adjust. better formal than casual if unsure. if you're really struggling, ask your line manager.

if the bank is taking you to a different city, they will pay housing. they will also explain everything to you closer to the time - i.e. you are over thinking this now, so far in advance of starting. chill out my dude, focus on your gpa.
