D&T Executive Search Partners
Has anyone heard of D&T Executive Search International, Inc.? I was reached out to by a recruiter from there who seems to be the sole employee. There is no website, company LinkedIn page, or other verifiable employees. On top of that, the message was extremely poorly formatted and asked for my resume directly. After sending the resume with my response, I was asked again to send the resume. The only reason I have to hope that this is not fake is a pretty significant amount of mutual connections in the industry. This is definitely a scam right?
Based on the most helpful WSO content, your concerns about D&T Executive Search International, Inc. seem valid and align with common red flags associated with recruitment scams. Here are the key points to consider:
Lack of Online Presence: The absence of a website, company LinkedIn page, or other verifiable employees is a significant red flag. Legitimate recruitment firms typically have an online presence to establish credibility.
Poorly Formatted Communication: Messages that are poorly formatted or unprofessional often indicate a lack of legitimacy.
Repeated Requests for Your Resume: Asking for your resume multiple times, especially after you've already sent it, is suspicious. It could indicate disorganization or an attempt to collect your personal information for malicious purposes.
Mutual Connections: While mutual connections in the industry might provide some reassurance, they are not a guarantee of legitimacy. Scammers often exploit networks to appear credible.
General Advice on Recruiters: As highlighted in WSO threads, always be cautious when dealing with recruiters. Be explicit in writing that your resume should not be shared without your permission, and avoid sharing sensitive information unless you are confident in the recruiter's legitimacy.
Given these points, it is highly likely that this is a scam. To protect yourself: - Avoid further communication with this recruiter. - Do not share any additional personal or sensitive information. - Consider reaching out to your mutual connections to verify their experience with this recruiter, but proceed with caution.
If you remain uncertain, it’s better to err on the side of caution and disengage.
