I'm curious about lateral associate positions at Elite Boutiques. Do they open up frequently? What's the best way to find out about opportunities? Are most of these positions filled via networking with people at the firm or in the group that's hiring, or through recruiters?
I'm currently an associate (promoted from analyst) at a strong MM advisory firm, with solid deal experience, and am interesting in moving to a top-tier firm.
Appreciate any input in advance.

They open up somewhat frequently. If you are actively seeking and aren't hearing much via WOM, then the positions just may not be opening up. You noted that you have solid experience at a strong firm -- excellent, if a firm thinks they'll benefit from hiring you, they'll open up a spot. Side note: NEVER join an equinox.
Get ready to be grilled off your fucking ass sir. Centerview? Brain teasers. PWP? Mental math. PJT? Merger model. Evercore? Accounting. Moelis? Body count.
Damn could’ve gotten into Moelis since sophomore year. 1 year of my life wasted at BAML I guess. Do you know if they look at cumulative or annual body count? Because if it’s on a per annum basis, I need to get to work.
