At analyst level it’s really what skills are you picking up. Companies need ECM too. Sponsors need accounting too. Doesn’t make it better than M&A. Might be good for senior guys but at junior level where you might jump in 2 years it’s really what you are learning. PCA teams seem behind on that perspective - even at my bank.

If you are an analyst trying to get a PE job, obviously BB M&A. If you are an ECM analyst at Nomura trying to get out, sure go do PCA
