European Institutions - How do they look?

Hi guys, I have been thinking a lot lately about how an internship at a European Institution (i.e. European Investment Fund / European Investment Bank / EBRD) would look like on the CV of a candidate who wants to break into the PE field. I come from an ultra non-target local Greek school and job opportunities here are very limited to roughly the big-4 when it comes to working on real deals. While international banks will not even look at my applications, EU Istitutions seem to be my best bet when it comes to working both at a relevant field and at an international level.

How do you like them guys? What would you think of a person who had started their career at the EIF for example at the Equity Investments & Valuation Division? I have never heard of a person joining a PE following their time at an EU organization and therefore I am afraid there might be some stigma around it. Could this be true?
