OP, some details might help us give some more pointed advice - what do you want to do in 2 years? Are you set on finance and that's the world you want to remain in? Evercore might have a strong case in that scenario - but the name doesn't mean much outside of Wall St. MS is a global brand, huge network, and you can do a variety of different things. Your experience can really vary by group there, but I doubt it can be "bad". Also, if this is for SA, there are more advantages to doing it at MS than at Evercore IMO - you can always switch shops after a summer, doing so from MS is probably a bit easier.

Also, if your thinking about bschool, being at a top boutique and getting great recs tends to be more advantageous.

Morgan Stanley is the way to go in this situation. Evercore is a good brand but MS is top 2/3 in the banking world

"Look, you're my best friend, so don't take this the wrong way. In twenty years, if you're still livin' here, comin' over to my house to watch the Patriots games, still workin' construction, I'll fuckin' kill you. That's not a threat, that's a fact.

MalakariDoesnt matter. This site started going down in advice once high schoolers joined.

What did we do? If anything your advice will be better appreciated and stand out, we're not stopping you from posting. We're here because you're posting.

ALWAYS go BB over boutique.

1) You will have more deal flow, greater name recognition and better access to headhunters.

2) It will look better on b school apps.

3) It will be more impressive to your girlfriends' parents.

4) You will get significantly better on the job and pre-start training.

5)You will have a bigger analyst class and therefore more friends at work and therefore a geometrically larger network.

6) You will have the opportunity to work on M&A, debt and equity as opposed to just M&A.

7) You won't become a bitter boutique analyst who spends all his time on WSO cheerleading for boutiques.

That's not to say Evercore isn't legit, but think of it in terms of a fantasy football draft. Taking Evercore over MS is like taking Peyton Manning first overall instead of Adrian Peterson. Sure, Peyton Manning is good, but YOU WOULD NEVER PASS UP ON ADRIAN PETERSON IF YOU HAVE THE CHANCE TO DRAFT HIM.

BB>Boutique MS>>Evercore

for seniors it's a whole different game though.
