Evercore Summer Analyst

I've recently learned that a friend, but not close friend, of my fathers is a Senior MD at Evercore and I'm very interested in working there next summer, seems like an awesome place with good people. Coming from a semi target (Colgate, Bucknell, BC, Richmond) with a decent GPA but a good internship at a well known boutique/mm firm this summer as a sophomore do you a) think its at all possible to break in? b) think its too early to start reaching out to him? and c) have any idea when Evercore does much of their recruiting/interviewing?

Apologies if this is annoying and for the longwinded questions but just slightly nervous as this is really my first time pursuing something like this. Thanks in advance!

If it's your first time cold networking, why don't you get some practice in first? Hit up some other alumni and talk to them to get a feel for how these things typically go.

Second this. Definitely get some practice in before climbing up the ladder. No matter how polished/comfortable/etc. you think you are you don't want your first networking call to be with a super senior guy.

Also, as far as I know Evercore doesn't do any fall recruiting, and all their stuff starts in Jan/Feb.
