If you are fortunate enough to have a gym in your apartment building like i do, then down time isn’t impossible to find. I’m usually able to find 30-45 min (or less if cardio) to sneak downstairs and get a pump in. Obviously theres days where it just doesn’t work but i get about ~4-5 days of exercising in per week on average. Before 10am or after 8pm is usually when stuff slows down (or you got the comments/tasks you need to work on for the rest of the night and MD is already checked out for the evening).

Do 100 push-ups everyday. break it up throughout the day, so you could start off doing 10 at a time. I’m up to 25 at a time. Sets at 9am, 12pm, 3pm, 6pm. You’ll be pleasantly surprised at the results over time. On top of that, I play basketball or go to the gym to lift when I can, but if i’m not able, the push-ups help a lot.

I’ve been WFH for obvious reasons so I do the pushups at home, but i’ll be going back into the office soon. I’ll probably be more disciplined leading up to going back bc I know I wont be able to do so as much in the office (it’d be odd to just start doing pushups/situps on my trading floor). I’ll adapt somehow

Depends on your bank. I know people at sweatshops that still get gym time.

If you can, try to communicate this one with the other juniors on your teams, and also bring your phone. Giving people a heads up that youre going to step out for an hour and see if they can cover.

This is all contextual though because sometimes you're just totally jammed on something, and sometimes you'll have an associate who's a pain in the ass. If the former, you probably need to jam, if the latter I think you kind of just say eff it and leave.

with WFH I tell no one and go get in an hour/hour and a half lift starting at around 9. If anyone asks me for stuff, I just say I'm grabbing dinner or something. I use my phone to keep myself green on Skype. Never had a problem and I work for a BB in a busy group. Rarely are people badgering you after 9. After 9pm, everyone knows what they need to have ready for the morning. As long as you get your work done, no one is going to be the wiser. I also know some places where it is acceptable to take an hour for dinner. You can go workout for that hour and then come back and eat at your desk while working. Very place dependent.

Have an online trainer and block my calendar from 9 -9:30 two days a week. I have kettle bells at home and some equipment. That’s the only thing I have been able to consistently maintain for a few months now.
