Exit into PE with Bad SAT?

Hi everyone,

I'm currently a senior at a Non Target and have secured a FT IB offer at a Middle Market Investment Banking Firm in NYC. Prior to securing my offer, I was obsessed with breaking into IB and using that to exit into PE. I worked my ass off to break into banking for that reason. Now having secured the offer and with a year till I start my FT gig at the Investment Bank. I'm just now realizing how screwed I am for chances at breaking into PE. My SAT is around 1200-1250, and that was because I attended a public high school with depleting funds and had no idea how important the SAT would eventually be in the future. In fact, I didn't even study for it whatsoever. I simply went and just took the test. I'm finding out now that SAT scores play a huge role, along with your bank group placement, college GPA, and etc. At the moment, I currently have a GPA barely above 3.7 and I have failed a class once in the past (in college).

I feel like I'm screwed with Bad SAT scores, Non-Target, Middle Market bank when I start FT, and 3.7+ GPA. Just how screwed am I for PE recruitment? I've been studying everything from BIWS Premium Package, WSO PE recruitment guide, WSP Premium Package and many more that I pretty much understand how to conduct myself from case study interviews to technical questions, fit questions, and brain teasers. Even with all of this, I'm still getting anxiety because I feel like I'm screwed. What can I do? I'm particularly interested and realistic in breaking into Middle Market PE firms. I know the Blackstones, KKRs, and Apollos more than likely won't even bat and eye at me but I still would like to know how best to maximize my chances at breaking into Middle Market PE firms. Thank You.
