So I recently got placed in the BB's Chemicals group which wasn't ideal for me since it doesn't seem like an interesting industry.
I was wondering if someone can comment on the exit opportunities and the strong/weak banks in this area. Can these groups still land PE/etc?

What did you pick as your choices, was chemicals one of them or they stick you there?
I haven't seen much discussion on chemicals just like metals and mining. My guess is no one knows on here.

No, you're good to go assuming your a strong candidate, top bucket analyst and got good experience.
Chemicals is actually a pretty good group to be in IMO since you get a good amount of understanding of manufacturing, global macro etc... chemicals have also been a popular LBO target in the last 5-10 years.

CS and ML are very strong in Chemicals. Not sure how ML is now after the BAC fungus they've got growing on them.

What about UBS? If they were strong in chemicals I probably would have listed them along with CS and ML.
That doesn't mean its not a good opportunity, it just means its not an opportunity in the top group on Wall Street.
