Fast technical interview good or bad?

Recently had a technical interview where I think I answered everything competently but the interview was short (like 15 min out of 30) then I filled 5 min with a couple of questions.

Thinking either they had a list that I burned through quickly or "this guys hopeless" no inbetween - what's usually the cause?

I was in the last interview of a super day, and this happened. I definitely got all the technicals right; they told me I did. We then started talking about random stuff, and the interviewer actually asked me to stay after to chat if I was interested. We talked for another 20 mins, and it was a good convo. I thought, why would they ask me to stay after if they are going to ding me? I thought I was a slam dunk for an offer, but I ended up getting dinged. The point being, don't try to read anything from your interview - it will just make you paranoid.

Thanks for the follow-up, MoMo. I edited it and abbreviated "MoMo" to be short for a previous username/account that I believe you are familiar with. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to look at two posts and recognize the same syntax. You can do better, but at least throw me a banana for the edit.

Don’t read too much into it. I had very short interviews where I was rejected right after and ones where I was moved when I least expected it. One time I answered all questions correctly and still didn’t get it but it wasn’t a fit from both sides. You did what you could, keep interviewing until you hold an offer in hand and good luck
