Final round at BB
For a post-MBA associate position, what would be the chance of an offer once you make it to the final round stage? If you're from a non-target (think ranked between 20-30), are you on an equal playing field once you're at the superday or still at a disadvantage?
I'm assuming that chances this year will not be as good due to the credit crunch, but so far for this year, what do you guys think the approximate chances are?
I'm curious about the same situation for internships for non-target undergrads. What are chances once you make it to the Superday?
I think that with target schools there is often an assumption of competence. With non-target schools (note: this isn't for Johns Hopkins-esque non-targets), there is more of a need to demonstrate your sophistication and competence. That being said, a non-target kid that walks in there confident, put together, and knows his shit, will be on the same playing field.
some non-target kids are brilliant...perhaps even smarter than ivy leaguers..and the recruiters know this...for example..if you are part of the honors program or a prestigious honors society in your non target school...then they expect something of the level of a target school kid...this is according to my understanding from speaking to recruiters...
