Finance Jobs that Require Less Attention to Detail

Currently a first year analyst. I'm smart, great work ethic, enjoy deals, getting into the models, etc., but I meet my match when it comes to attention to detail. It's frustrating and it's something that either comes to a person or doesn't - it doesn't come to me. What jobs are out there (similar field / caliber) where I don't have to agonize over a little footnote on page 82 in the appendix

Virtually every first year analyst and associate is shit at attention to detail at the level that is expected in IB. Print the deck out before sending and you will catch way more. Years ago this was the expectation instead of just a good idea.

If you aren’t fond of the job then by all means look for something else, but don’t get discouraged just because you miss nitty (or even less than nitty) junk.

I miss nitty details and get railed in my reviews accordingly. The occasional, menial mistakes overshadow everything I do right

Most finance jobs (corp dev, AM, IR) won't be as intense with 90 page decks, tight turns, etc, so less details to pay attention to... but attention to detail is key in any finance job. Think about it, you're basically asking what jobs don't mind showing seniors or clients incorrect numbers. None.

This is an incredibly common first year analyst problem and it's absolutely not something that "comes to you or doesn't". It's 100% putting in the work. Do the work on it for a few months and you will just naturally become much better.

I would spend 3 months absolutely laser-focused on this. Print out a bulletproof checklist (there are so many checklist threads on here, compile one or two of them) and spend a stupid amount of time going through this when you turn things - will slow you down at first but minimize errors, and you will eventually become very good at catching mistakes

I appreciate your input, but I'm not asking for jobs where I can get away with showing shitty work / incorrect numbers - the substantive details that matter are always correct
