Firms with most asymmetry

What are the firm names with the most aura for each unit of competitiveness to get into / league rankings.

For example - Rothschild in NYC probably isn't better than Jefferies in most aspects of deal fees / league rankings / exit opps, but the name as more aura (probably because of its European and historical strength) - to me, at least

This is actually a really interesting question in a really funny way too lmao. But genuinely curious now as well

the real EBs... Allen and Co, Raine Group, Ardea Partners

The chick at the bar probably thinks u work in the mailroom of a shitco when you say those names. Its the reverse of what you said, where they should probably have a lot more clout

Yeah M. Klein and Allen have asymmetrically low aura for me. Names just evoke the image of a crusty dusty MD watching Wheel of Fortune in his 38 waist khakis.

Allen is the classic bell curve meme. Ppl outside finance never heard of it, ppl actually working knows that they are a joke nepo shop, but sophomores think they got some mystical aura.
