it takes place once you get back to school for sure, a short period before the interviews actually are. This way, it leaves time for all the students to compare which interviews they got and then to slit their wrists, accordingly.

im assuming you're at ross based on username right? Preselected closed lists at ross for interviews are already out for all the banks interviewing that week except UBS, DB, and Jefferies. At least, i've heard back (positive, thankfully) from JPM, Lazard, Moelis, cs, Citi, Rothschild and William Blair so far.

they have until the 1st of jan to get them out, and i've been told ubs is probably not going to release theirs until the 1st. After the 1st (i think it starts on the 3rd?) bidding starts for the positions that have spots open for that.

ignore this if you're in lsa/engineering because i have no idea how that works

The top boutiques (Lazard, Evercore, etc) only target ross, not the other schools. However, i dont think any of them would straight up refuse to hire from other schools - just need to work harder networking like other non-targets and you should be fine

I know there's at least two lsa grads currently analysts at Moelis, for example, though they might have been lateral hire (not sure).

That implies that Ross is a target school....since when? I missed that memo

i guess semi-target would be more appropriate in general (ms and cs are only recruiting for chicago this year and ross never was a target for ML), but for the banks mentioned in the post, yes ross is a target, so there was nothing misstated in my post.

also, what value did your comment add to this discussion, exactly?

It's been my experience that you typically find out sometime the week before the interview. In one situation I found out the night before.
