Following up after accepting an offer
Accepted an offer from a BB about a month ago and was wondering what the etiquette was to keep in touch with the group. I've heard some people say it is important to keep in touch with the group in the months prior to the internship, others have said to not be a pain in the ass and just chill.
The group itself is pretty relaxed from what I've seen so I don't want to come off as an intense hardo-kid. Is there a rule of thumb to be followed? What have you guys done in the past?
I'd say just chill tbh. Maybe reach out to some close contacts if you feel the need to.

In a similar position. Accepted a BB FT offer (summer 21 start) and I'm wondering how regularly I should reach out during the interim period... Haven't spoken much to anyone since accepting the offer
Please...don’t bother the group before you get there. Maybe 1 month out send quick intro emails to the team to let them know that they can pass work off to you soon (get them familiar with your name early) – but at any point before that you’re just taking unnecessary time out of their day. They can’t make any use of you u til you are on the job— there’s more than enough time to network meaningfully during your internship (received a a return offer from MS this summer virtually)
They will normally reach out and keep in touch with you. Don’t worry about reaching out. Usually the recruiting team will keep you updated and send you some swag or small gifts during exams, etc. People on your team will usually checkin a month or two before to start welcoming you.
Basically, just relax.
You don’t want to come across as an obsessive loser. There is a certain etiquette.
I would just send a stripper-gram to their office around lunch. Have the stripper write your name and phone number somewhere provocative. This will impress your peers and superiors and establish you firmly in the psyche of your future office.
